treffpunkt:kunst

Annett Ulrike Meier & Cornelia Theimer Gardella in conversation about their art, crafts and inspiration

How does craftsmanship become art? What makes a work art? We will explore these questions at another »treffpunkt:kunst« at the Ceramics Museum.

Our guests are ceramic artist Annett Ulrike Meier from Weimar and tapestry artist Cornelia Theimer Gardella from Erfurt, whose works are featured in our current exhibition, »Earth. Line. Light.« The title describes the common threads connecting the two artists; they are both inspiration and integral to their work. These are pieces created through two of humankind's oldest crafts: pottery and weaving.

On this afternoon, Annett Ulrike Meier and Cornelia Theimer Gardella will share their individual creative processes and methods with us. How does inspiration become an idea? How do experiences, emotions, and environmental impressions flow into a material? How does each artwork take shape? The artists will address these and other questions, and are happy to discuss them further in person.

Intrigued? We cordially invite you to the »treffpunkt:kunst« event on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 3:30 pm at the Ceramics Museum! Admission is free.
